What is wrong with Dravid? He seems to be like a gladiator these days. In the last edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), there was widespread criticism regarding his performance. He was sacked from the Royal Challengers captaincy. The wall of silence has never shown any kind of anger and frustration in his 13 years of cricketing career. He is famous for his defensive style of batting. He hit only 15 sixes in 134 test and 40 sixes in 333 ODIs. He is not only a true bookish cricketer but also a time taker, to settle on the crease.
Well! Anybody can say that this new format of cricket is none of your business Mr Wall. However, the wall of silence is broken, and each piece of the wall is answering the questions posed by the critics. He is answering almost every delivery. In the second edition of IPL, he is performing extremely well. He is the top performer among the Royal Challengers. Apart from his top position on paper, his biggest achievement is that he has created an impression on the opponents - Hang on! I am still batting and unless the last ball of the match is not delivered, result will not be declared.
He is really a changed batsman today. In the last match against Deccan Chargers, he scored runs with the strike rate of 177.78.
What a strike rate it is! Is he the same Dravid? He made valuable 48 runs in just 27 balls with five cracking boundaries and two lofty sixes. It was a tough chase of 184 runs, however, till his presence, it quite seemed possible.

There is not only a change in his batting but also he analysed the T20 format beautifully. In fact, he seems to be a very good analyst. “We didn’t utilise the first six overs to score many runs. I think it’s crucial to utilise the first six over in this format of cricket,” Rahul Dravid said, after the defeat against Deccan Chargers on Wednesday (22nd April).
Well! He is playing like a wounded tiger. It’s tough to find the exact reason. But, whatsoever the reason is, he is in his best form of cricket and most importantly, he is into the list of favourites of T20 players. And, we wish him all the very best in his remaining cricketing years. Keep it up Mr Wall....
